What are you hoping for on Mother’s Day this year?

A precious lie-in?

Breakfast in bed?

A designer hand-bag?

No grief from the teenagers for one whole day?

What I really loved when my son was younger was to be brought breakfast in bed, together with the Sunday papers, and to just be able to relax all day until a lovely home-made roast dinner was ready for me!

Now that my Mum, my sister and I are all living close to each other, we have family Mother’s Days, which end up with family games like Taboo or Cranium being played. Three generations playing the same game at the same time .... well we certainly laugh a lot!

My favourite moment every Mother’s Day is a home-made card from my son (now 11), and the smile on his face when I get my early morning Mother’s Day hug!

I remember my first Mother’s Day. My partner stayed up all night watching some important boxing match, made me breakfast in bed, and then slept for the rest of the day! Needless to say, this doesn’t earn you Dads many brownie points!

Who Is Ed Hardy?

Don Ed Hardy was born and raised in California. The 63 year-old tattoo artist has gained world-wide recognition in recent years, after Christian Audigier licensed the rights to produce a luxury Ed Hardy clothing line, using Hardy's tattoo imagery. The range is very popular among young celebrities.

Don Ed Hardy began drawing obsessively at the age of 3, and has always been interested in people's stories, andthe stories that pictures tell.

When Hardy began tattooing the 1960's, he was drawn to the fact that the public perception of tattooing relegated this art form to the underworld of sailors, bikers and criminals. Remember a few weeks ago when Jordan arrived back from her naughty week-end in Spain? The short luminous green dress she was wearing was, you guessed it, an Ed Hardy design! Other celebrities recently spotted wearing these distinctive designs include David Beckham and Britney Spears.

Ed Hardy is not just a tattoo artist. He and his wife have written and published many books on alternative art, and Hardy creates and exhibits works in other mediums, including porcelain. He still maintains a tattoo studio in San Fransisco, although no longer does the tattoos himself.
